A traffic accident in the Piedra Plat district on Sunday afternoon caused a temporary power outage and significant damage to public infrastructure. The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 PM near the roundabout, prompting an immediate coordinated response from police, ambulance services, and technical teams.
According to reports, the vehicle was traveling uphill when it collided with a utility pole, snapping it upon impact. Because the pole supported a transformer, the crash led to an immediate loss of electricity in several nearby areas. Utility crews were dispatched to the scene and successfully restored power shortly after the incident occurred.
Paramedics attended to the driver at the site before transporting them to the hospital for further treatment. To facilitate the cleanup and investigation, traffic police closed off the affected road. Officers from the Technical Department were present to document the damage, while crews from Elmar arrived with trucks to begin structural repairs on the damaged pole and electrical lines.
