Dutch Prime Minister Jetten to Visit Caribbean Part of the Kingdom

ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Jetten, will visit the Caribbean part of the Kingdom from May 8 to May 14, 2026. This will be his first visit to the region in his role as Prime Minister, highlighting the importance the government places on strong cooperation within the Kingdom.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet with the prime ministers, governors, and members of parliament of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten, as well as local authorities from Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. Discussions will focus on resilience, security, and sustainability. The program also includes meetings with residents, entrepreneurs, and community organizations.

The visit will begin in Sint Maarten, where topics such as reconstruction, governance, and crisis cooperation will be discussed. In Saba, he will visit a nursing home and a community center project. In Sint Eustatius, he will visit an oil terminal and participate in activities related to cultural heritage.

In Bonaire, the Prime Minister will review waste management, education, and sustainable food systems, along with a social housing project.

Later, he will travel to Aruba, where he will attend the premiere of a nature documentary and visit Arikok National Park, a sports center, and a local business under a new economic support program. His Aruba visit will conclude with a tour of Queen Beatrix Airport.

The final stop will be Curaçao, where discussions will focus on social challenges, regional geopolitics, and energy developments.
