ORANJESTAD (AAN): A fire alarm was reported midday Tuesday at a business on Caya G.F. “Betico” Croes, prompting both police and firefighters to respond.
The Betico Croes Street Fire Alarm Incident occurred when authorities received a report of smoke or fire on the roof of a building along Hendrikstraat.
Upon arrival, fire crews climbed onto the roof and determined that workers were using a torch in construction or maintenance work. At one point, some asphalt paper caught fire, but firefighters quickly extinguished it.
For safety, the fire team remained on site to monitor the situation and ensure the area remained secure after the small rooftop blaze was put out.
