ORANJESTAD (AAN) — Leo Club Aruba, under the leadership of President Leo Cassandra Trimon, in collaboration with Gesina Fung-A-Fat, Chairperson of the International Rainbow for Girls Aruba organization, organized a beach cleanup at Arashi Beach on Saturday, April 18.
The urgent initiative came in response to the severe weather that impacted Aruba’s coastline during the Easter holiday season. Young volunteers gathered early that morning to address the aftermath of the storm.
During the cleanup effort, participants focused on removing trash and debris from the beach area, working to preserve the natural beauty of Arashi Beach for both visitors and locals alike. The activity brought together youth from two organizations united by a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
Community events of this kind not only demonstrate the dedication of Aruba’s young people to environmental conservation but also help strengthen the bond between the community and its natural surroundings.
Arashi Beach, located on Aruba’s northwestern coast, is known for its distinctive white sands and clear waters, making it a popular destination for both tourists and residents throughout the year.
