ORANJESTAD (AAN): Tierra del Sol is set to introduce an innovative water filtration system as part of plans to develop a new hotel in the area.
During an update marking the first anniversary of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, management shared progress and future developments, including sustainability efforts at Tierra del Sol. The Tierra del Sol Water Plant Aruba project will make the new hotel fully self-sufficient in water use.
According to General Manager Arnaud Le Lanchon, the filtration plant will treat wastewater and produce “gray water,” which will be reused for landscaping and maintaining the golf course. This approach ensures that no wastewater from the property will be directed to Bubali Plas.
The Tierra del Sol Water Plant Aruba initiative aligns with Iberostar’s global sustainability vision, aiming to reduce environmental impact and promote efficient resource use.
Management also clarified that the new hotel will not be built at Arashi Beach, but within Tierra del Sol’s existing property, accessible through its main entrance.
Additional plans include the development of a “Shoco Boulevard” connecting the hotel area to the California Lighthouse, designed to support local wildlife habitats.
The Tierra del Sol Water Plant Aruba project highlights a strong commitment to sustainable tourism and environmentally responsible development in Aruba.
