On March 24, 2026, the Guardia Costa Maritime Operations Center (MOC) received a report of a commercial boat near Klein Curaçao requesting medical assistance for a 58-year-old Brazilian tourist who had injured his shoulder while attempting to board a small dinghy. The tourist dislocated his shoulder during the attempt.

After consulting with the CITRO doctor, it was determined that the patient needed immediate medical treatment at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). A Guardia Costa helicopter was quickly mobilized to fly to Klein Curaçao and transport the injured tourist to Hato, Curaçao. Upon arrival, an ambulance crew was on-site to transfer him to the Curaçao Medical Center for further treatment.

This incident underscores the importance of rapid medical response and coordination in remote areas to ensure the safety of tourists and residents alike.
