A Hendrikstraat drug raid Oranjestad led to the arrest of a man and a woman after police discovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs during an operation carried out late Friday afternoon.
The raid was conducted by the Narcotics Unit of the Aruba Police Force, working alongside other judicial authorities. The operation followed an investigation that reportedly included valuable tips provided to law enforcement.
Police Raid Property in City Center
Authorities obtained authorization from the Public Prosecutor’s Office before proceeding with the operation. Officers then carried out the Hendrikstraat drug raid in Oranjestad at a property located near the city center.
Police arrived at the location and quickly secured the area. Individuals present at the address were ordered to raise their hands and remain still while officers carried out the search.
During the operation, officers detained a man born in Aruba and a woman born in the Dominican Republic.
Drugs Confiscated During Operation
According to a police spokesperson speaking to local media, authorities discovered a considerable quantity of illegal drugs stored at the property.
Officers searched multiple areas of the residence and confiscated all narcotics found at the location.
While police have not yet disclosed the exact weight of the drugs seized, officials confirmed that the substances included cocaine and cocaine base.
Investigation Continues
Following the Hendrikstraat drug raid in Oranjestad, both suspects were taken into custody and are currently being questioned by the Narcotics Unit.
