ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Museum Grant Application Call 2026 Opens Again, giving museum professionals another opportunity to apply for research funding through the Museum Grant program.
The program supports scientific research that strengthens the knowledge and research functions of museums. Museum staff and collaborators can submit proposals for research projects that contribute to museum collections, heritage studies, and cultural research.
The Museum Grant Application Call 2026 Opens Again and interested applicants are invited to participate in an online information session that will explain the program and the application process.
The online session will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, where the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) will provide detailed information about the new grant round. During the session, participants will receive guidance on the application process and have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the organizers.
Applicants who wish to participate in the information session can access it through the official registration link provided by the organizers.
The Museum Grant program allows museum professionals to apply for funding to conduct short-term but in-depth scientific research related to museums or museum collections. The research results must contribute to the improvement of museum practices and must be documented in a publicly accessible publication.
In order to apply, a museum professional must serve as the main applicant, while a researcher affiliated with a recognized research institution must be involved in the project as a research supervisor.
The program aims to strengthen the scientific role of museums while encouraging collaboration between museums and academic research institutions. Through this partnership, the initiative promotes the exchange of knowledge and the development of new insights related to museum collections and heritage research.
The Museum Grant Application Call 2026 Opens Again with a total available funding budget of €700,000 for research proposals. Individual projects can request funding between €10,000 and €50,000, depending on the scope and objectives of the research project.
Applicants must submit their proposals before the official deadline.
The final submission deadline for applications is May 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM (European time).
Museum professionals interested in applying are encouraged to review the official call for proposals and ensure that their research plans meet the requirements before submitting their application.
The grant program continues to play an important role in supporting research and strengthening collaboration between museums and scientific institutions.
