ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Carl Quant Named Aruba Tourism Director Europe marks an important step for the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) as it continues strengthening the island’s presence in the European tourism market.
The Aruba Tourism Authority officially announced that Carl Quant will assume the role of Area Director Europe starting April 1, 2026. In his new position, Quant will lead strategies focused on expanding Aruba’s tourism presence across Europe and further developing the island’s international visitor market.
The Carl Quant Named Aruba Tourism Director Europe follows the long tenure of Tirso Tromp, who held the role for the past 15 years. Tromp played a significant role in promoting Aruba throughout Europe and building strong relationships with travel partners and industry stakeholders.
Following his return to Aruba, Tromp will transition to a new role as Senior Business Manager at the Aruba Tourism Authority, beginning April 1, 2026. In this position, he will continue contributing his experience and knowledge to the organization’s ongoing tourism development efforts.
In his new position, Quant will work closely with ATA’s European team and strategic partners to strengthen Aruba’s brand presence in the region. The focus will include maintaining consistent branding for Aruba, strengthening long-term partnerships, and attracting high-quality visitors who appreciate the island’s culture, natural beauty, and unique identity.
Quant’s professional background includes extensive experience in the hospitality and tourism sector. He began his career in Aruba’s hospitality industry, working with several international hotel chains where he gained valuable experience in tourism operations.
He later contributed to the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF), where he gained deeper insight into environmental conservation and the importance of sustainable tourism for the island. This experience helped shape his understanding of how tourism development can be balanced with protecting Aruba’s natural resources.
After relocating to the Netherlands, Quant continued building his career in the European tourism market. He held several commercial and strategic roles in business and luxury hotels, gaining valuable knowledge about European travelers and tourism trends.
Quant later joined the Aruba Tourism Authority as Sales & Marketing Manager Europe, a role he will hold until March 30, 2026, before officially stepping into his new position as Area Director Europe.
According to Quant, the opportunity to promote Aruba internationally is both a professional responsibility and a personal passion.
“For me, Aruba is more than a destination—it feels like home,” Quant said. “I look forward to working with our team and partners in Europe to strengthen relationships and continue positioning Aruba as a high-quality tourism destination.”
ATA Chief Executive Officer Ronella Croes also acknowledged the leadership of Tirso Tromp and expressed confidence in Quant’s appointment.
Croes noted that Tromp’s dedication and passion helped build Aruba’s reputation in Europe, while Quant’s experience and strong connection to the island provide a solid foundation for the next phase of Aruba’s tourism strategy.
With the Carl Quant Named Aruba Tourism Director Europe, Aruba Tourism Authority aims to further strengthen its presence in one of its key international tourism markets.
