Aruba is a beautiful place to live and visit. Our beaches always maintain a pleasant environment, attracting many tourists, especially during the peak season. This year, there’s been an increase in traffic along the coastline compared to previous years. Our beaches will be even busier during the Lenten season, with many locals visiting the area as well.

Ben Figaroa, from Tourism Security Patrol Aruba (TSPA), is urging the people of Aruba to be more conscious of the safety of both locals and visitors. He emphasized the importance of taking care of the environment and maintaining the cleanliness of our beaches. Figaroa noted that many tourists come to Aruba specifically to enjoy the beauty of our beaches, and it is essential to showcase our island as a prime destination.

He also called for cooperation to keep our beaches clean. Figaroa pointed out that some people still leave their trash behind on the beaches, creating an unpleasant sight for both locals and visitors. He encouraged everyone to take their trash bags with them when they leave, reminding them that there’s no service to collect trash from the beaches every day, and that strong winds often spread the trash.

TSPA’s role goes beyond ensuring safety on the beaches. They monitor activities, alert relevant authorities when necessary, and ensure proper waste disposal. Figaroa’s message is clear: “We all need to work together to preserve the natural beauty of our beaches for the tourism sector, which is a key pillar of our economy.
