This morning, the Aruba Police Corps (KPA) celebrated a special ceremony in which the Minister of Justice, Mr. Drs. Arthur Dowers, Two new police commissioners appointed in Aruba

The new commissioners are Mr. Silvio de Mey and Mr. Adrick Croes, both of whom have impressive careers and many years of experience within the police organization.

During his speech, Deputy Commissioner Ramon Arnhem reviewed the professional careers of both new commissioners and expressed his gratitude to their families for their understanding, support, and constant encouragement throughout their careers in the police force.

Mr. Silvio de Mey joined the Aruba Police Corps at the age of 18 and began his career with the Netherlands Antilles Police Corps as an Aspirant-Agent. On January 1, 1986, he had the opportunity to work in another island of the Netherlands Antilles but chose to remain in Aruba. He began his service in the Surveillance Department and later worked in various police departments, including the Surveillance Department, Youth and Morality Police, and Internal Affairs Bureau.

As an Onderinspecteur Eerste Klasse with a Master’s degree in Law, de Mey continued his training at the Netherlands Police Academy, where he graduated in 2012 with an Executive Master Tactical Policing (EMTP) degree. Since then, he has held various positions, including Inspector, Senior Inspector, Chief Inspector, and most recently as the Acting Police Commissioner.

Mr. Adrick Croes is also a well-known figure within the Aruba Police Corps. He began his training at the Netherlands Police Academy in 2000 and joined the Aruba Police Corps in 2004 as an Inspector. Within two years, he was promoted to Senior Inspector. Since 2008, Croes has served as Chief Inspector of Police and held various key positions, such as Head of Information & Expertise, Head of Special Services, Arrest Team Portfolio Holder, Head of Border Control, and District Chief of Santa Cruz and San Nicolas.

With the appointments of Silvio de Mey and Adrick Croes as commissioners, the Aruba Police Corps strengthens its leadership and continues to invest in experience, knowledge, and commitment to the safety and well-being of the Aruban community.

Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers congratulated the Aruba Police Corps on the achievement of having these two exemplary individuals now serve as Police Commissioners. The Minister also expressed gratitude to those present for their dedication and effort to maintain the integrity of the Police Corps.
