Kendra Maduro has come forward to clarify her side of an unfortunate incident that took place last Sunday night, which required police assistance and quickly spread online through various news and social media platforms. According to Maduro, several circulating versions of the story do not accurately reflect what actually happened.
Speaking to DIARIO, and echoing statements she shared on her social media accounts, Maduro explained that the incident occurred during an extremely difficult personal moment.
“On Sunday night, I was going through a very stressful situation. I was at the beach with my partner when he suddenly became ill, and we went to the Emergency Department at the hospital. After he was treated, we returned home, but his condition worsened again, and I called an ambulance,” she said.
Maduro stated that when the ambulance arrived, one of the paramedics—who personally knew her partner—made a sarcastic comment, saying, “You again,” in a joking tone, referencing having seen them earlier at the hospital. Given the fear, stress, and emotional strain she was experiencing at that moment, the comment was perceived as unprofessional and inappropriate.
After a friend of Maduro addressed the paramedic’s behavior, the situation escalated. She explained that the paramedic approached her aggressively, and in a moment of self-defense and emotional distress, she pushed him. Police were subsequently called, and Maduro was taken to the police station.
She strongly emphasized that she was not under the influence of alcohol or any other substance at the time of the incident. Maduro also made it clear that the situation was entirely personal, occurred outside of school hours and her professional environment, and did not involve any of her students.
“This incident has absolutely nothing to do with the care, dedication, and responsibility I have always shown toward my school, my students, and the parents who place their trust in us,” she stated.
Maduro appealed to the public for understanding and compassion, noting that behind headlines and online commentary is a real person with family, emotions, and a full story.
“It is painful to read comments from people who do not know me, were not present, and still choose to judge and insult without hearing the full story,” she said. “I hope people take a moment to reflect before commenting or drawing conclusions. What happened to me could happen to anyone—when a loved one is unwell and fear and desperation take over.”
By sharing her account, Kendra Maduro hopes to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and encourage empathy and restraint in public discourse.
