ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Instituto Pedagógico Arubano (IPA) is inviting individuals who wish to study to become a Primary Education Teacher but were unable, due to life circumstances, to complete HAVO, VWO, or MBO Level 4, to register for the 21+ Entrance Exam (21+ Toets).

Anyone who will be at least 21 years old as of September 1, 2026, and who wishes to pursue studies at IPA but does not hold a HAVO, VWO, or MBO Level 4 diploma, may register for the 21+ Toets. This exam assesses whether applicants possess the HAVO-level knowledge required to begin studies at IPA.

Candidates who successfully pass the 21+ Toets will be eligible to enroll in one of IPA’s initial teacher education programs offered during the 2026–2027 academic year. After registering, applicants will be invited to participate in the admission test (beroepstest) and the preparatory program (voorprogramma), which will take place during the 2025–2026 academic year. Upon successful completion, students may begin their studies in August 2026.

  • Tuesday, February 24, 2026

  • Saturday, February 28, 2026

More detailed information is available on the IPA website. Visit www.ipaaruba.com and click on 21+ Toets to find exam content details, frequently asked questions (pages 13 and 14 of the IPA 21+ explanatory document for the 2026–2027 academic year), and registration procedures.

Registration

Interested applicants can register online via www.ipaaruba.com. Registration requires a payment of AWG 100, and a copy of the payment receipt must be uploaded with the digital registration form. The receipt must clearly include the applicant’s name so the payment can be properly identified.

Applicants will receive a confirmation once their registration is completed.
The final deadline to register for the 21+ Toets is January 12, 2026. No registrations will be accepted after this date.
