MEP Strongly Critical of Muzaninn Wever

During the parliamentary session dealing with the 2026 budget for Parliament, several MEP parliamentarians expressed strong criticism toward Vice President Muzaninn Wever for what they described as his “dictatorial attitude” last week.

Parliamentarian Edgard Vrolijk highlighted several constitutional articles, arguing that Muzaninn Wever had violated multiple sections of Aruba’s Constitution. Shailiny Tromp-Lee emphasized that such a dictatorial approach is unacceptable and constitutes manipulation.

Rocco Tjon questioned how Parliament can approve the budget if they cannot even uphold their own values—referring to the fact that the AVP and Futuro factions were not respecting parliamentary rules.

Endy Croes also condemned the Vice President’s lack of transparency.
Finally, Hendrik Tevreden concluded by stressing that Parliament must “walk the talk,” especially when demanding respect for democracy.
