Last week, the Government of Aruba, Directie Ouderenzaken, and Colegio EPI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Colegio EPI. The director of EPI, Ms. Ankie Danker, explained that the course being offered allows individuals to complete it at their own pace. According to Ms. Danker, this is a new concept but is part of Aruba’s ongoing process of educational flexibility. Together with the labor market, EPI is offering this course to professionals in Aruba.
The course is part of the Leven Lang Ontwikkelen (LLO) project (Lifelong Learning). The project, which began with the signing of the MoU, lasts for 10 weeks and results in a certificate. After completing the course, individuals can continue with further courses to obtain additional certificates. The certificate is recognized within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and upon completing additional courses, individuals can earn a diploma.
Ms. Danker stated that this is the first step in cooperation with Ouderenzaken to address the need for improving the quality of care homes. Ouderenzaken will cover the cost of the course, while EPI will manage the logistical aspects.
The director of EPI also emphasized the intention to introduce more projects in other areas of expertise, including economics, technical skills, and hospitality.
“In the future, we aim to collaborate with other companies who are willing to sponsor the professional development of their employees,” said Ms. Ankie Danker.
