Wingo Aruba routes now connect the island directly with five Colombian cities as the airline and the Aruba Tourism Authority project approximately 150,000 passengers between the two markets during 2026.
Five Colombian cities have direct links
Wingo currently serves Aruba from Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla. Bogotá service began in December 2016, followed by Medellín in 2022 and Cali in 2023. Bucaramanga and Barranquilla were added to the network during 2026.
Airline reports 73,000 passengers through July
The airline said it carried about 73,000 passengers on the routes from January through July. It reported that 84% of passengers travel for vacations. Approximately 70% are Colombian, while the remaining 30% are Aruban and Dutch citizens, according to Wingo.
The traffic operates in both directions, including Aruba residents travelling to Colombia for tourism, shopping, medical care, wellness and business. ATA considers Colombia a strategic tourism market and said expanded connectivity can support interest in Aruba’s culture, gastronomy, nature and wellness offerings as well as its beaches.
