Fifteen employees from TRYP by Wyndham Aruba and Gianni’s Group joined a morning Aruba cleanup, collecting litter from a busy hospitality-area route and nearby public spaces.
The group started near Sand Bar at 7 a.m. and walked toward McDonald’s before focusing on a side road between Hostaria Restaurant and a playground, according to 24ora.
Volunteers collect common roadside waste
Employees found and removed glass bottles, beverage cans, takeout containers, diapers, napkins, cigarette packages and disposable cups. The source did not provide a total weight or number of bags collected.
The work focused on litter visible along the walking route and around the playground area. The participating companies said the volunteers wanted to improve the surroundings and set an example for other organizations.
Companies encourage local action
Management from TRYP by Wyndham Aruba and Gianni’s Group thanked the 15 employees who took part. The businesses said community members and companies do not always need to wait for a larger organized campaign before addressing litter in their immediate area.
After completing the cleanup, the volunteers returned to Sand Bar, where Gianni’s Group provided sandwiches and TRYP by Wyndham Aruba supplied water and juice.
Small effort targets a visible problem
The activity follows repeated public concern about litter in Aruba’s streets, beaches and recreation areas. This event was organized by the two participating employers and their staff rather than announced as part of a government program.
The companies said they hope the Aruba cleanup encourages other businesses to organize similar efforts. No date for a follow-up activity was announced.
