ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Aruban Olympic Committee (COA) announced that Panam Sports will hold an Executive Committee meeting in Aruba next week. This event marks the first time in the history of both the COA and the island that such a high-level gathering has been hosted locally.
Panam Sports serves as the continental Olympic organization for 41 nations across the Americas. The body is responsible for managing Olympic sports and organizing major events, including the Pan American Games and the Junior Pan American Games. The COA is an established member of the organization, with Secretary General Nicole Hoevertsz currently serving as a member of the Executive Committee.
The upcoming agenda includes two days of formal meetings involving all Executive Committee members. In addition to the sessions, the delegation plans to visit key stakeholders within the Aruban sports community to foster stronger relationships and discuss regional sports development.
The COA expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to host the event, stating that it demonstrates Aruba’s capacity to organize international sports gatherings. Officials believe this collaboration will help position Aruba as a regional “hub” and bring tangible benefits to all local member federations.
