Soroptimist International Club Aruba Joins ‘Orange Aruba’ Campaign

Aruba has joined the global “Orange the World” campaign launched by the United Nations in 2008 to combat gender-based violence.

Every year, from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) through December 10 (Human Rights Day), communities worldwide observe 16 Days of Activism aimed at creating a future where all girls and women can live without fear.

In an interview with DIARIO, representatives of the Soroptimist International Club Aruba (SICA) shared more about their organization and the work they continue to carry out for the local community. Their initiatives include monthly talks on important and relevant social issues.

This weekend, as part of the global “Orange the World” campaign, SICA proudly presents its first edition of the Orange Awareness Carousel—an event focused on inspiration, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment.

During the morning program, five women from the Aruban community will share their expertise, real-life insights, and practical tools to help strengthen efforts to eliminate violence against women and girls.
The speakers include: Paloma Tromp, Gilliany Oduber, Suzette Kock, Carolina Pieters-Janer, and Barbara Richardson.

The Orange Awareness Carousel will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at EduCampus Aruba (formerly Bin Bini Bazaar).
Admission is free, but registration is required in advance via WhatsApp at 561-9100 or 736-965.

Join, learn, support, and uplift one another as the community works together toward a safer future for all women and girls.
