Degree Completed at the University of Aruba
The Salem Auguste hospitality study marked the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Aruba. Auguste successfully defended the thesis on September 30, 2026.
The degree was earned through the Organization, Governance and Management program in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Thesis Examines Leadership Readiness
Auguste’s thesis was titled “Assessing Leadership Readiness for Managerial Promotion at The Ritz-Carlton Aruba.” The research examined how the resort could evaluate employees’ preparation for leadership before promotion into management.
The study focused on applying that assessment consistently with the Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards and Aruba’s local hospitality context.
Committee Reviews Successful Defense
The graduation committee consisted of Zunaica Phillips, MBA; Luciano Milliard, LLM; and Isabelle Meelis, MSc.
The announcement thanked the lecturers in the Organization, Governance and Management department, participating professionals and others within and outside the University of Aruba who supported Auguste’s academic work.
