ORANJESTAD (AAN): Ministers Geoffrey Wever (Primary Sector) and Gerlien Croes (Youth) invite the public to attend a live demonstration of the ‘Programa Piskechi’ this Sunday at the recently renovated Savaneta pier (formerly Brisas del Mar) from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
‘Programa Piskechi’ is a hands-on educational program designed for children and youth aged 10 to 17 to learn traditional fishing techniques. The program will be held monthly at the same pier.
During Sunday’s demonstration, part of the ‘Open Monumenten Dag,’ adults will have the opportunity to observe the materials and methods used, as well as the curriculum. The initiative aims to strengthen the local fishing sector by engaging youth and preserving traditional skills.
