PPA Submits Amendment to Shift Tourism Focus from Quantity to Quality

The PPA (People’s Political Alliance) parliamentary faction has submitted a proposal aimed at transforming Aruba’s tourism strategy from one based on quantity to one focused on quality.

Otmar Oduber, the faction leader, expressed pride and satisfaction with the effort put into the amendment. He praised the hard work of their parliamentary assistant and acknowledged the contribution of Leonardo Figaroa, a university student from Leonardo College, who supported the team in developing the amendment.

According to the PPA, the amendment aims to ensure Aruba benefits more sustainably and economically by attracting higher-value tourism rather than simply increasing visitor numbers. The initiative reflects the party’s long-standing advocacy for a more responsible and impactful tourism policy that aligns with the island’s environmental and economic goals.
