ORANJESTAD (AAN): A Piedra Plat serious accident occurred on Saturday night shortly after 8:00 PM on the main road near the Franklyn Bareño Sports Complex, causing significant damage and injuries.
Residents in the area reported hearing a loud crash and discovered debris scattered across the road. Two heavily damaged compact vehicles were found at the scene: a white Nissan Note and a black Toyota Agya.
According to witnesses, the Piedra Plat serious accident was caused by the driver of the Toyota Agya, who had been driving dangerously in a zig-zag pattern for some distance before the crash. The driver reportedly crossed into the opposite lane without braking and collided head-on with the Nissan Note.
The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles. Emergency services, including police, ambulance, and firefighters, responded quickly. The driver of the Toyota Agya was seriously injured and trapped inside the vehicle, requiring rescue teams to use specialized equipment to free him.
The driver of the Nissan Note was also injured and treated at the scene. Both individuals were later transported to the hospital for further medical care.
Police are currently investigating the Piedra Plat serious accident, including checking the alcohol level of the Toyota Agya driver. Authorities will use all collected information to complete the final report.
