In a recent legal proceeding in Oranjestad, Aruba, the case against S.K., accused of sexual abuse involving two minors and possession of six firearms, has seen significant developments. Defense lawyer Mr. Rosenstand presented a strong case arguing the lack of evidence against his client.
According to Mr. Rosenstand, there is no medical investigation, psychological evaluation, or DNA evidence to support the accusations of sexual abuse made by the minors, R. and W. The defense emphasized that there is no video evidence either, contrary to the claims that S.K. filmed the abuse. R., the alleged victim, had stated in the Netherlands that the video was made by someone else.
Further questioning revealed R.’s troubled history, with statements indicating ongoing personal issues and a possible reluctance to accuse S.K. of any wrongdoing. The defense also questioned whether the victim’s mother had influenced the case.
Regarding the possession of firearms, the defense lawyer stated that S.K. has legal permits for all weapons, which are registered with a local shooting club. The firearms were legally confiscated in previous investigations.
Mr. Rosenstand also refuted claims made by the victims about physical characteristics, such as tattoos and scars, stating that S.K. has no tattoos matching the descriptions provided.
The defense concluded by requesting that the case of sexual abuse be dismissed due to the lack of evidence, as well as the lack of illegal firearms possession. The court is expected to deliver a verdict on October 10, 2025.
