ORANJESTAD (AAN): The national sports entity has appointed three new board members, selected by the Minister of Sports, to assume responsibility for guiding, advising, and overseeing the organization in the upcoming term. This board renewal represents a strategic step toward ensuring that funds allocated to sports in Aruba are managed with transparency, integrity, accountability, and full legal compliance.
The newly appointed board will be responsible for evaluating, supervising, and strengthening internal processes within Fundacion Lotto pa Deporte and other related entities. The primary objective is to ensure that every florin designated for sports development is used fairly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Through stronger rules and procedures, the organization reaffirms its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and responsibility for the benefit of Aruba’s sports community.
This broader restructuring within the sports sector demonstrates a firm commitment to integrity and sustainable development. Enhanced oversight mechanisms are intended to protect public trust, safeguard athletes’ interests, and guarantee that sports funding reaches its rightful and deserving destinations.
Minister of Sports, Mr. Gerlien Croes, expressed his appreciation to the newly appointed board members — attorney America Barrios, fiscal law expert Gerald Moreta, and international business and marketing professional Danielle de Miranda — for their professionalism and willingness to serve the community. He wished them success in their new roles, emphasizing that this initiative marks another decisive step toward strengthening sports and athletic well-being on the island.
