ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Directie Financiën has announced that a technical issue has resulted in a delay for the May 2026 payroll. Minister of Finance Geoffrey Wever disclosed the situation yesterday through a statement shared on the department’s website and his Facebook page. The announcement was made to inform the public regarding the delay.

In the official statement, the department clarified that a portion of the May payroll faced a setback due to technical reasons. To address the malfunction, the department stated that they are working together with the Banco Central di Aruba. The department noted that the objective was to resolve the issue swiftly, with the expectation that the problem would be entirely solved before the end of the day yesterday.

Furthermore, the department apologized for the disruption, stating, “Nos disculpa pa e inconveniencia.” Minister Wever shared the announcement with the comment, “Por fabor tuma nota di e anuncio aki.”
