During the Cas Bon Taekwondo Cup 2026 held on Saturday at the Centro di Bario Brazil, Grand Master Marilu de Veer presented a special recognition to Master Augy Tromp. The tournament, organized by the Brazil Taekwondo Stichting, was dedicated to honoring Tromp’s decades-long involvement in the sport and his impact on the local martial arts community.
The award from Grand Master Marilu de Veer specifically highlighted Master Augy Tromp’s 31 years of dedication as a referee for the Brazil Taekwondo Stichting. Tromp’s officiating path began in 1995 at the Savaneta Taekwondo Stichting’s inaugural event, the Sbarro Taekwondo Cup, which took place at the Marinierskazerne. Following that start, he established a respected trajectory in refereeing, officiating at countless tournaments both in Aruba and on the international stage.
Adding to the tributes, Master Nuno Tromp, Vice President of the Aruba Taekwondo Bond (ARTBO), presented Master Augy Tromp with a souvenir gift. This presentation recognized his vital contributions to the growth and development of Taekwondo in Aruba for more than three decades. Following the ceremony, Master Augy Tromp expressed his satisfaction with the honor and thanked the Brazil Taekwondo Stichting for remembering his contributions throughout the years.
