Police responded to a traffic accident in the Macuarima district on Tuesday midday involving a collision between a public bus and a passenger vehicle. Authorities were alerted to the scene shortly after the incident occurred, requiring officers to manage traffic flow and secure the area.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accident happened when the bus driver was given the right of way by one lane of traffic. However, an oncoming vehicle from the opposite direction failed to stop in time. Reports indicate the car was traveling at a high speed and collided with the bus before the driver could maneuver to safety.
Despite the impact, emergency services confirmed that no injuries were sustained by the driver of the bus, the occupants of the car, or any bystanders. Police remained on-site to document the incident and facilitate the removal of the damaged vehicles to restore normal traffic conditions.
