NOORD (AAN) – Kudawecha Redskins defeated Royal Power 5-2 to win the Copa Noord 2026 softball championship in the tournament’s grand final at the Calabas Blue Jays field.
Royal Power took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Redskins rallied in the fourth. Richinell Matos hit a three-run home run to put Kudawecha ahead 3-2, and the team added two insurance runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory.
Pitcher Jeremy Geerman threw a complete game and earned the win, while Jomark Flanegin took the loss for Royal Power. Despite collecting nine hits, Royal Power was unable to capitalize on key scoring opportunities late in the game.
Following the championship, tournament awards were presented. Jeremy Geerman was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Nolly Guitierez of Yoyo’s Power was recognized as Champion Pitcher. Javier Pire won the batting title, and Jair Thompson claimed the home run title.
Organizers Calabas Blue Jays congratulated all participating teams, with Kudawecha Indians announced as hosts of the 2027 Copa Noord tournament.
