ORANJESTAD – Aruba is strengthening youth entrepreneurship and innovation through the Kingdom Startup Program (KSP), a six-week pilot initiative that brings together university students from Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten to develop innovative solutions for real challenges facing the islands.
During a visit to the University of Aruba, Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and the Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever welcomed State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitalisation Eric van der Burg and praised the program for investing in local talent and preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders.
The program encourages participants to develop business ideas in areas including healthcare, education, sustainability and the digital economy with guidance from experts across the Caribbean, the Netherlands and the United States.
Minister Wever said investing in innovation means investing in people, emphasizing that Aruba’s future economic growth depends on empowering young talent, strengthening entrepreneurship and building a diversified and resilient economy.
