KIA Launches Recruitment Drive for Correctional Officer Training Program

Aruba’s Correctional Institute (KIA) is actively recruiting approximately 15 candidates for its correctional officer training program, following an announcement by Minister of Justice mr. drs. Arthur Dowers during a Wednesday press conference. The initiative comes in response to a critical shortage of officers at the facility.

“From the moment you start the training, you are officially in service and will receive your salary,” Minister Dowers confirmed, highlighting the government’s commitment to attracting qualified applicants. Upon completion of the program, graduates will begin working full-time at KIA as correctional officers.

Requirements and Application Details

Interested candidates must meet several prerequisites to qualify for the program:

KIA is looking to fill roughly 15 positions through this recruitment round. Eligible Dutch citizens who are interested can apply in person at the KIA facility in Balashi on April 29 and 30.

This recruitment effort falls under broader developments in Aruba’s News sector, as the government works to strengthen the island’s correctional system with adequately trained personnel.
