The Aruba Police Force carried out preventive controls in the districts of Noord and San Nicolas starting on the evening of Saturday, May 30, 2026. The operation was active from 6:00 PM until Sunday morning at 6:00 AM. During this period, police officers conducted inspections on various vehicles and searched individuals as part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety.
According to the police, the checks were specifically directed at the illegal possession of firearms. During these interventions, officers confiscated a quantity of drugs and artifacts related to drug use. Additionally, authorities seized a knife and brass knuckles (boksbeugel), which were found during the searches.
The Aruba Police Force emphasized that they will continue to collaborate with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to reinforce security measures across the island. These joint efforts aim to increase safety on the streets and provide protection for the community, with a particular focus on safeguarding the youth of Aruba.
