Last night, authorities responded to another Hit & Run incident case. The serious accident occurred in Dakota, at the intersection of Caya Juancho Kock and Caya Papa Huan Pablo II.
Upon arrival, the police found a damaged sedan and an injured person. The other vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene but was not far from the area.
The abandoned car left behind was a silver Kia Rio, and the person inside was injured and required medical assistance. Witnesses described the fleeing vehicle as a Honda sedan.
Thanks to a tip-off, authorities were able to locate the Honda shortly afterward, hidden not far from the scene of the accident, near the former Wimco area in Dakota. The car and driver were found, and it was clear that the intention to flee was evident.
The community recently protested, demanding that lawmakers introduce tougher penalties for Hit & Run offenders. It is something that the community will not tolerate, as they believe anyone involved in such an incident must take responsibility and cannot simply avoid the consequences.
Last night was no different. The police arrested the driver, who tried to hide his identity, clearly embarrassed by his actions.
