The Government of Aruba has taken a major step forward in strengthening Specialized Medical Care Aruba with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating a sustainable and coordinated model for specialized healthcare services.
On Friday, the Minister of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management, Drs. Melvin Wyatt-Ras, together with key healthcare partners, officially signed the agreement, marking what the government describes as a historic milestone for Specialized Medical Care Aruba.
The MoU was signed with major institutions involved in specialized medical services, including the General Health Insurance Authority (AZV), Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital (HOH), Instituto Medico San Nicolas (ImSan), the Aruba Association of Medical Specialists (VMSA), the Hospital Specialists Association of Aruba (ASHA), the Aruba Association of Employed Medical Specialists (AVSD), and ImSan’s Specialist Association Aruba (ISAA).
This broad collaboration highlights the shared commitment to improving Specialized Medical Care Aruba through structural cooperation, mutual trust, and shared responsibility. The agreement focuses on ensuring a healthcare system that is sustainable, transparent, and centered on patient well-being.
Minister Wyatt-Ras stated that the MoU demonstrates how strong collaboration can lead to a more resilient and financially sustainable system for Specialized Medical Care Aruba, ensuring continued access to high-quality medical services for the population.
With this agreement, the Government of Aruba reaffirms its commitment to working closely with all healthcare partners to secure a strong foundation for the future of Specialized Medical Care Aruba, aligned with the evolving needs of the community.
