ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Local chef Ludwich Samson has been officially promoted to the position of Executive Chef at Joia Aruba by Iberostar. Samson, who previously served as executive sous chef for six months, assumes the new leadership role at the prestigious hotel.
In a recent interview, Samson discussed his career trajectory and the factors leading to his promotion. He described the achievement as the result of hard work, dedication, and his connection with the team. “I started six months ago as executive sous chef. Hard work, dedication, connect with the staff… the opportunity presented itself and I was chosen for the position of executive chef,” Samson declared.
The chef explained the shift in his daily duties, noting a significant increase in responsibility compared to his previous operational role. He stated that while he previously focused on various parts of the kitchen operations, the entire scope now falls under his purview. “As executive sous chef, there were parts of the operation I was in charge of… but now, the complete responsibility of the operation falls on the Executive Chef,” Samson explained.
Samson emphasized the importance of a local professional occupying the top culinary role, noting that such positions are frequently held by individuals from abroad. “The fact that you are a local is also important, because often Executive Chefs are people from abroad, but here they chose a local person,” he expressed. Regarding his recent promotion, Samson stated he feels proud and happy, reiterating that hard work pays off.
