Aruba – Aruba’s elite swimmer, Elisabeth Timmer of the Stingray Swimming Team, made history by setting three new Aruban records at the 2025 Nederlandse Kampioenschappen KB in the Netherlands.
During the championship, Timmer demonstrated exceptional consistency, mental strength, and technical skill, breaking records in three different events:
- 50m Freestyle: 25.20 seconds
- 100m Individual Medley (IM): 1:02.89
- 100m Freestyle: 54.60 seconds
The 50m freestyle record was particularly remarkable, surpassing the previous record of 25.24 seconds held by Ally Ponson. In the 100m IM, Timmer improved her own Aruban record twice in one day, first with 1:03.20 and later with an impressive 1:02.89. She capped the day by breaking one of three records in the 100m freestyle, lowering her previous time of 55.12 seconds to 54.60.
The Stingray Swimming Team expressed immense pride in Timmer’s achievements. Her performance not only represents a personal triumph but also serves as an inspiration to young Aruban swimmers aspiring to compete internationally. These results highlight how dedication, discipline, and confidence can lead to extraordinary success.
Aruba and the Stingray Swimming Team proudly celebrate Elisabeth Timmer’s historic accomplishments and her outstanding representation on the international stage.
