DVG Urges Aruba Residents to Prepare for Future Emergencies

ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Department of Public Health (DVG) is encouraging residents to become better informed and prepared for emergencies following the powerful earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.

Although Aruba was not affected by the earthquakes, DVG says the event serves as an important reminder that natural disasters can occur without warning. The department is urging residents to review emergency preparedness plans and learn how to respond if a disaster were to impact the island.

DVG’s website includes a dedicated “Calamidad” (Disaster) section that provides practical guidance on preparing for and responding to various emergencies. Topics include earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, house fires, infectious diseases, emergency supply kits, and important emergency contact numbers.

The department encourages everyone to visit www.dvg.aw and become familiar with the available information, emphasizing that preparation begins with knowledge.

DVG reminds the public that disasters do not provide advance notice, making preparedness an essential part of protecting personal health, safety, and well-being.
