ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Department of Elderly Affairs (DOZ) is inviting the public to attend Fiesta den Cunucu pa nos Grandinan, a cultural celebration honoring the island’s senior citizens on Sunday, June 28, at Santa Rosa.
According to DOZ representative Damara Rasmijn, final preparations have been completed to provide older adults with a memorable day filled with culture, entertainment, and community spirit. The event will begin with an official opening attended by two government ministers.
The program includes live performances by Grupo Kibrahacha Boyz, traditional dances by Young at Heart and Gucci Dancers, a San Juan and Dera Gay presentation, and a closing performance by Banda Enkura. Five senior citizens who have made significant contributions to Aruba’s primary sector will also receive special recognition.
Visitors can enjoy a culinary competition organized with EPB San Nicolas, browse products offered by senior groups raising funds for their activities, and experience a festive atmosphere celebrating Aruba’s traditions.
DOZ has arranged tents, seating, wheelchair-accessible facilities, and medical support from EMS Aruba to ensure the event is comfortable and accessible. Organizers encourage visitors to bring cash for vendor purchases and invite families to join the celebration from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Santa Rosa.
