ORANJESTAD:
Early Sunday morning, a disorderly incident in Sero Blanco involving a couple and a third individual escalated into a minor traffic accident and resulted in the arrest of a suspect, according to police.
Authorities described the situation as chaotic, noting that all individuals involved appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and provided conflicting statements, making it difficult to immediately establish the sequence of events.
During the dispute, a man drove a vehicle that caused property damage, including striking a water meter, which burst and released a large amount of water. Police reported that the driver later attempted to switch seats with another person in an effort to avoid responsibility. However, video evidence from the scene confirmed who was driving at the time of the incident.
Officers interviewed multiple individuals and nearby family members to clarify what had occurred. One of the women involved, who was reportedly underage and intoxicated, was uncooperative and verbally confrontational toward police officers.
After nearly an hour of managing the disturbance, authorities detained the primary suspect and restored order to the area.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
