ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Colegio Nigel Matthew volleyball victory brought joy and pride to Aruba during the Interinsular Volleyball Games 2026, held at the Betico Croes Sports Center in Santa Cruz.
On Friday afternoon, Aruba’s team—represented by student-athletes from Colegio Nigel Matthew in San Nicolas—delivered an outstanding performance against Curaçao’s team from Marnix College. The match showcased strong teamwork and determination from the Aruban players.
The Colegio Nigel Matthew volleyball victory was secured with a final score of 25-18 and 25-21, giving Aruba a well-deserved win. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the students celebrated their success.
Minister Gerlien Croes attended the event, congratulated the teams, and took photos with the winning Colegio Nigel Matthew team, highlighting the importance of youth sports and regional competition.
In another match played the same day, Scholengemeenschap (Curaçao) defeated Mon Plaisir College (Aruba) with scores of 25-17 and 25-20.
