Organizers of the Bonaire Regatta have officially launched the 59th edition of the Caribbean’s iconic nautical event. During a promotional tour that included stops in Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba, the organizing committee shared details regarding the upcoming competition and schedule.
Gerrald Victorina, General Coordinator of Bonaire Regatta, discussed the event’s evolution from a small challenge between friends 59 years ago into a major regional sporting event. Competitions will feature various disciplines, including Sunfish, Optimist, Miniatuurboat, Yate di Vela, Windsurfing, and Kitesurfing. “It is a sport that started small and grew to become an important event for Bonaire and the entire region,” Victorina said.
The main activities will be held at Cas di Regatta at Bahia di Bonaire. Victorina extended a special invitation to the Aruban community to participate, noting that athletes from Aruba will receive free transportation to facilitate regional attendance. Daily entertainment will include Happy Hours with live music from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
