ORANJESTAD (AAN): The National Library of Aruba has expanded its collection with several new children’s books by Bonairean author Delno Lionel Alfeo Tromp, also known as “Denchi.”
The Bonaire Books Aruba Library addition includes three titles: Het eiland van Lionel, Shi Helena ta conta, and E kabritu cu djent’i oro. These works enrich the library’s offerings with stories that highlight Caribbean culture, language, and values.
Isla di Lionel tells an inspiring story of dreams, growth, and returning home, following a young man’s journey abroad and his eventual return to his island. The story blends adventure with themes of identity and personal development.
E kabritu cu djent’i oro is a trilingual book available in Papiamento, Dutch, and English, making it accessible to a wider audience while promoting language learning and cultural storytelling.
Shi Helena ta conta combines storytelling and poetry, offering reflections on traditions, values, and Caribbean life, also presented in multiple languages.
The Bonaire Books Aruba Library initiative reflects collaboration with organizations such as Fundashon Akademia Papiamentu and aims to promote the Papiamento language and cultural heritage.
These books will soon be available in the youth section of the National Library of Aruba, providing educational and cultural value for both young readers and the wider community.
