The business program “BeYourOwnBoss,” organized by Qredits Aruba in collaboration with the Aruba Airport Authority, has successfully concluded with a Final Pitch Event held in Oranjestad. The event provided a platform for approximately 150 students from MAVO and HAVO levels to present their business ideas. Throughout the course of the competition, participating youth developed specific projects and solutions designed for application at the Aruba Airport Authority, demonstrating their creativity, ability to work in teams, and capacity to present business concepts effectively.
A jury consisting of leaders from the business and tourism sectors was present to evaluate the various projects submitted by the students. The results of the competition saw Tropical Trunk from Het Schakel College win first place in the MAVO category. In the HAVO category, the first place was awarded to Parkichi, also a team from Het Schakel College.
According to Qredits Aruba and the Aruba Airport Authority, the program is designed to focus on the development of entrepreneurial and leadership skills among young people. Since the program’s inception, more than 500 students across Aruba have taken part in BeYourOwnBoss. The initiative aims to continue inspiring a new generation of local entrepreneurs to develop their business capabilities.
