ORANJESTAD (AAN): April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month, focusing globally on promoting understanding, empathy, and inclusion. It highlights how different ways of thinking and experiencing the world enrich communities and make them stronger.
As part of this initiative, the Autism Foundation Aruba (FAA) continues its efforts to educate and inspire the community. Carolina Span of FAA announced a special Autism Awareness Aruba Event taking place this afternoon, April 13, at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, starting at 5:30 PM in Papiamento.
The event will feature a panel of various organizations that provide support and services to individuals with autism and their families. Participating organizations include Fundacion Autismo Aruba, Dienst Publieke Scholen, Bureau Multidisciplinair Centrum, Stichting Hunto, Respaldo, Jeugdgezondheidszorg (DVG), Directie Sociale Zaken, Wit Gele Kruis, Inspectie Volksgezondheid Aruba, and AZV.
According to Span, many families are often unaware of where to seek help or which professionals to contact. The Autism Awareness Aruba Event aims to guide and inform the community about available resources and services, ensuring better support for individuals with autism and their loved ones.
This initiative reinforces the importance of awareness, collaboration, and access to information in building a more inclusive society through the Autism Awareness Aruba Event.
