ATSA President, Sulaika Kelly, of Playa Linda Beach Resort, opened the session by welcoming attendees and presenting the meeting’s agenda. She shared recent updates from her dialogues with Aruba government officials, focusing on vital topics such as infrastructure, tourism development, and the collaboration between public and private sectors.

“These ongoing conversations with government entities are vital to ensuring Aruba remains competitive, secure, and ready for visitors,” said Kelly.

Airlift and Airport Updates Take Center Stage

Presented by Aruba Airport Authority NV

A major highlight of the meeting was a detailed presentation on airlift developments and scheduled airport renovations for 2025. Led by Mary Joan Wardlaw, Customer Relationship Officer, and Jo-Anne Arends, Business Development Executive, both from Aruba Airport Authority NV, the presentation focused on:

  • Efforts to increase flight capacity

  • Enhancing customer experience

  • Modernizing Queen Beatrix International Airport to accommodate growing demand

These updates are part of Aruba’s broader strategy to improve tourism infrastructure, ensuring smoother arrivals and departures for both timeshare guests and leisure travelers.

Updates from Marriott Vacation Club

Pedro Vargas of Marriott Vacation Club shared an update on the Tourism Security Patrol Aruba (TSPA), a growing program aimed at enhancing visitor safety in the island’s top tourist areas. The TSPA is especially active between The Ritz-Carlton Aruba and Divi All-Inclusive, covering beaches and public walkways. The initiative reflects Aruba’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for vacationers.

Resort Renovations Across the Island

During the open-floor segment, ATSA members shared updates from their resorts, with a focus on:

  • Ongoing renovations

  • Pool and public space upgrades

  • Facility enhancements

  • Sustainability-driven improvements

These efforts demonstrate a collective commitment to enhancing the guest experience, ensuring Aruba’s timeshare properties remain competitive and in demand from returning visitors and new vacation owners alike.

Collaboration Is Key to Sustained Growth

The June 2025 meeting demonstrated that Aruba’s vacation ownership sector is thriving and evolving. Through strong collaboration between resorts, government agencies, and airport authorities, Aruba is well-positioned to lead Caribbean tourism with cutting-edge travel innovations and exceptional service.

Final Thoughts: ATSA’s Leadership in Aruba’s Evolving Tourism Sector

As tourism demand continues to grow, Aruba’s timeshare industry is adapting to meet the needs of the moment.
