ORANJESTAD, Aruba — An Aruba Service Clubs Donation has brought eight local organisations together to support children receiving care and guidance at Stichting Kinderhuis Imeldahof.
The joint contribution was presented through an annual inter-club initiative organised by Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach.
The activity gives Aruba’s service clubs an opportunity to strengthen their relationships while combining their resources to benefit a local organisation.
Eight Service Clubs Participate
The participating organisations were:
- Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach;
- Kiwanis Club of Aruba;
- Kiwanis Club of San Nicolas;
- Aruba Lions Club;
- Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club;
- Quota International of Aruba;
- Women’s Club of Aruba;
- Rotary Club of Aruba.
Together, the organisations selected Stichting Kinderhuis Imeldahof as the beneficiary of this year’s contribution.
The announcement did not state how much was donated or whether the contribution included money, equipment, supplies or another form of assistance.
Annual Event Strengthens Cooperation
Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach organises the social inter-club event annually.
In addition to supporting a charitable cause, the gathering allows members of the different organisations to strengthen friendships and discuss their shared commitment to community service.
By combining their efforts once a year, the clubs aim to achieve a greater impact than they might through separate contributions.
The same group of eight organisations has previously collaborated on other projects benefiting local foundations, demonstrating an established pattern of cooperation among Aruba’s service clubs.
Donation Supports Imeldahof’s Work
Stichting Kinderhuis Imeldahof provides care, temporary shelter and guidance for children who cannot remain in their family homes because of difficult circumstances.
Its services include daily care, educational support, recreational activities and specialised guidance for children with particular emotional or behavioural needs.
The organisation depends on government support, charitable contributions, fundraising activities and assistance from Aruba’s wider community to maintain its programmes.
Previous donations to Imeldahof have supported improvements to its facilities, access to technology, educational activities and other services benefiting the children.
Clubs Maintain Strong Community Role
Service clubs regularly organise fundraising events, volunteer projects and donations for organisations working in education, youth development, healthcare and social support.
Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach has placed particular emphasis on initiatives benefiting children and community development.
Other participating organisations also conduct their own annual projects while joining collective activities when cooperation can produce a wider impact.
Combined Effort Creates Greater Impact
The joint donation reflects the participating clubs’ belief that cooperation can strengthen charitable work across Aruba.
Instead of supporting Imeldahof independently, the eight organisations combined their resources and public-service networks behind one shared initiative.
The Aruba Service Clubs Donation will help Stichting Kinderhuis Imeldahof continue its work for children under its care while demonstrating what local organisations can accomplish when they work together.
