Aruba rental registry preparations have begun following a meeting of the interministerial taskforce responsible for implementing the government’s new short-term vacation-rental policy, NoticiaCla reported on October 21.
Digital system is an early priority
The group is working on a digital registration system, the conditions for the new framework and coordination of the next implementation steps. Representatives cover finance, economic affairs, infrastructure, tourism and public health, according to the report.
The government says registration should provide a clearer picture of existing rental properties and help establish transparency, oversight and structure in the visitor-accommodation sector.
No opening date announced
NoticiaCla reported that a date for registration to begin had not yet been announced. The taskforce’s preparatory work follows the government’s earlier policy announcement; it does not mean the digital system is already accepting registrations.
