The K-9 (Unidad Canino) unit of the Cuerpo Policial Aruba (KPA) has received an official invitation to take part in an intensive specialized course in Miami, Florida, hosted by Police Service Dog Training. KIA’s BOT justice partners were invited to join as well.
The five-day program focuses on practical training to strengthen the operational capacity of police dogs and the skills of their handlers, with emphasis on the operational deployment of K-9 dogs for surveillance.
Beyond the training itself, participants will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with dog handlers from other countries. At the end of the course, they will receive official certificates.
According to the Aruba Police Force, the training forms part of its continuous investment in security, professionalization and cooperation with agencies at home and abroad.
The force wished the members of the K-9 unit, as well as their colleagues from KIA’s BOT, the best of luck with the training in Florida.
