The Aruba Open paintball tournament is bringing local and international teams together at Hot Triggers Paintball Field for two days of competition on September 26 and 27.
Opening competition offers World Cup opportunity
According to EA News, the event opened with a three-player format under Major League Paintball rules. The winning team earns an invitation to compete at the World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida, in November 2026.
Event coordinator Indy Chang said a local winner would have an opportunity to compete at the professional level while representing Aruba internationally. He described the tournament as both a competitive platform and a destination event for visiting teams.
Main Aruba Open carries $12,000 prize pool
The traditional Aruba Open competition continues on Saturday and Sunday with $12,000 in cash prizes. Organizers listed $7,000 for first place, $3,500 for second place and $1,500 for third place.
The field includes experienced players from abroad competing on different teams, a mix that organizers say is intended to raise the standard of play for local athletes.
Organizers aim to restore Aruba’s paintball profile
Chang recalled Aruba’s prominence as an international paintball destination during the 2000s. The Aruba Paintball Federation and Hot Triggers Paintball are seeking to rebuild that profile and establish the tournament as an annual stop for leading teams.
Organizers invited the public to attend the open tournament at Hot Triggers Paintball Field and support Aruba’s local competitors.
