The fifth Aruba health and wellness expo will bring prevention information, community activities and a fundraising walk to Oranjestad on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Fifth expo will serve all ages
The Department of Public Health, known as DVG, will host the event in its Oranjestad parking area on the road formerly known as Hospitalstraat. DVG representative Dahariana Evertsz told DIARIO that departments and community organizations will cover physical, mental and oral health, along with nutrition and prevention.
JGZ will explain school health assessments, while other participants will address oral care, mosquito prevention and steps residents can take around their homes. DBZ will provide information about influenza vaccinations and vaccines for travellers.
Movement, nutrition and mental health included
IBiSA and Fundashon Movemiento Ta Bida will coordinate physical-activity programming and share guidance on healthy nutrition, salt and sugar consumption, and reducing sedentary behaviour.
Fundacion Anti Droga Aruba will lead the mental-health area with information about addiction prevention and wellbeing. Stichting Huntu, Precision Eye Care, pharmacies and other organizations are also expected to take part, while food and beverage vendors will emphasize healthier options.
Community walk will support a local foundation
Fundashon Movemiento Ta Bida will organize a walk from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., starting and finishing at DVG. Proceeds from the walk will go directly to the foundation.
DVG is inviting residents to attend with their families, take part in movement activities and learn practical ways to support their health and wellbeing.
